CNC Machining for Precision Metal and Plastic Components
Gelecta supplies CNC-machined metal and engineering plastic components for demanding technical applications. Our manufacturing network combines modern multi-axis machining capabilities, project-specific quality assurance and a broad range of finishing options.
We primarily support precision components manufactured in medium-sized batches. Because machining capacity is available through several specialised partners, production can also be scaled for larger requirements when needed.
CNC milling and turning for demanding component geometries
Our manufacturing partners use modern CNC equipment, including 5-axis machining centres, to produce components with demanding geometries, multiple machined surfaces and accurately positioned features.
CNC milling is typically used for housings, brackets, plates and components with pockets, mounting surfaces or complex three-dimensional features. CNC turning is suitable for rotationally symmetrical parts such as shafts, bushings, sleeves, pins and threaded components. The most appropriate machining process and manufacturing partner are selected according to the component geometry, material, quality requirements and production volume.
Five-axis machining enables complex features to be produced with fewer setups. This supports consistent machining of demanding components and reduces the need to reposition the part between operations.
Precision defined by the component requirements
Dimensional requirements are reviewed against the customer’s CAD data and technical drawings before production. Achievable tolerances depend on factors such as component geometry, material, dimensions, surface requirements and the selected machining process.
Instead of applying one general tolerance statement to every component, we evaluate the requirements of each project and select a manufacturing partner with the appropriate equipment and expertise. Critical dimensions, inspection methods and acceptance criteria are agreed before production.
Capacity for medium-sized and larger production batches
Gelecta’s CNC machining service is particularly well suited to demanding components manufactured in medium-sized batches, where precision, repeatability and controlled quality are essential.
Machining capacity is available through several manufacturing partners. This allows us to select the most suitable specialist for each component and, when required, provide additional capacity for larger production quantities or recurring deliveries.
Inspection according to customer requirements
Components are inspected against the agreed dimensional, visual and functional requirements. The inspection scope and reporting format are defined according to the customer’s requirements and the critical characteristics of the component.
Inspection reports are prepared as agreed for each project, providing the documentation needed for sample approval, batch acceptance and ongoing production.
Surface treatments and finished components
CNC-machined components can be supplied with a broad range of common painting, coating and surface-treatment options. Depending on the material and application, these may include painting, anodising, plating, passivation and other protective or decorative finishes.
Gelecta coordinates machining, surface treatment, inspection and other agreed secondary operations as one managed delivery. This allows customers to receive finished components ready for their next production or assembly stage.
