A selected and established supplier network
Finding manufacturing capacity is not the same as finding the right partner. The supplier must understand the component requirements, communicate effectively, maintain consistent quality and support the project throughout its lifecycle.
Gelecta’s audited supplier network has been selected from more than 200 companies that we have evaluated and visited. We assess potential partners based on factors such as:
- relevant manufacturing technology and technical expertise
- communication and response times
- quality systems and inspection capabilities
- delivery reliability and production capacity
- commercial competitiveness
- suitability for long-term cooperation
Many of our key manufacturing partnerships have continued for more than ten years. Our Asian partners are primarily located in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province, including Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou and Zhongshan.
Local supplier management in China
Gelecta’s own Sourcing Manager in China works close to the manufacturing partners and supports projects from initial sourcing to recurring production.
The local role includes supplier communication, production follow-up and quality-related coordination. Direct contact with the factories helps us obtain current information, respond quickly when clarification is needed and follow agreed actions close to production.
Customers have a Gelecta contact in Europe while benefiting from local support in China.
Quality requirements agreed before production
Quality assurance begins with clear and shared requirements. The customer provides the applicable CAD data, technical drawings, specifications and acceptance criteria. Gelecta coordinates these requirements with the selected manufacturing partner before samples or production batches are made.
Depending on the project, the agreed quality process may include:
- sample production and customer approval
- dimensional and visual inspection
- inspection reports prepared according to customer requirements
- material or process documentation where required
- production-batch inspection and agreed acceptance criteria
- follow-up of non-conformities and corrective actions
Physical samples are sent to the customer when required for final compatibility, fit and assembly evaluation. The customer provides final approval based on the agreed samples, documentation and product-specific requirements.
From sourcing request to recurring deliveries
1. Requirements review
We review the customer’s component data, materials, quantities, quality requirements, finishing needs and target schedule.
2. Partner selection and quotation
A suitable manufacturing partner is selected based on the required technology, expertise, quality capability, capacity and commercial requirements.
3. Samples and approval
Initial samples and agreed inspection documentation are reviewed. Physical samples can be supplied for the customer’s internal testing and approval.
4. Production follow-up
Gelecta coordinates technical communication and follows production progress with the manufacturing partner. Agreed quality documentation is collected according to the project requirements.
5. Delivery and ongoing supply
Packaging, freight and recurring deliveries are coordinated according to the agreed operating model. The same supply chain can support the component from initial production batches to long-term recurring demand.
Transparent cooperation
Our operating model is transparent. Customers can visit manufacturing partners, participate in agreed supplier audits and communicate directly with partner specialists when detailed technical discussions are required.
Gelecta remains the coordinating contact throughout the agreed project scope, helping maintain a shared understanding of specifications, revisions, approvals and delivery requirements.
